RFQ for HP Laptop Upgrade (RFQOEBHPL02152017)
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is charged with regulating a large, complex and dynamic industry. It relies heavily on information and information technology to manage its processes, make regulatory decisions, stay on top of the energy market in Ontario, and disseminate information about that market to all its stakeholders - the Ministry of Energy, market participants, consumers and interested parties such as special interest groups.
The OEB is looking to enable OEB employees to become more mobile. We are planning to replace our current desktop environment with laptops and docking stations. Users who are not required to be as mobile as others will remain with a smaller, lighter desktop option.
The OEB is looking to purchase 150 units over the next 2 years with 20% being desktops and 80% laptops with docking stations.
Users are becoming more mobile and require the use of a laptop when they are off-site or working from home. IT has laptops for sign out. However, users are requesting laptops on a more regular basis. To keep up with demand and make it easier to keep track of inventory, IT has decided that it’s best to move users to a mobile solution such as a laptop with a docking station.
